Buncheong ceramics, white slip, transparent glaze (reduction fired)
25x41,5x1,5cm; 165x175x4cm

The installation shows a rocking movement, where two sides endeavour to meet as in a dance. It takes inspiration from the basic position of the Argentinian tango, which always starts with a slight rocking, swinging movement. The text element of the work is an interpretation of a line from a Rainer Maria Rilke poem. It describes a person’s
outstretched hands, ready to receive the new.

The artwork was produced during the 2023 International Creative Ceramic Workshop held at the Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum during October 2023 in Goheung, South Korea. Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum is located at the Undae-ri kiln site, the largest kiln site in Korea registered as the Historical Site No. 519 of Korea.
